In late September we took a visit to Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure. I have always wanted to visit the parks during the holidays so I was so excited to finally go and experience all of the festivities!
Disneyland is a short hour and 30 minute drive from our home, I know, we are so lucky! The whole way up I was belting out Disney tunes, getting us both pumped up for the day ahead!
As soon as we got through security the beautiful fall decorations flooded the space. There was some bit of detail everywhere! It was truly a warm feeling. That could have also been due to the fact that it was 85 degrees when we entered the parks!
We headed over to Disneyland first because I couldn’t wait to see how the classic Main Street was decorated for the season. I was so not disappointed! Everything was absolutely beautiful.
We waited in line, sweating from the sun beating down on us, for about 35 minutes to get a picture with the classic Mickey Mouse Pumpkin. It was even cuter in person than in the millions of photos I had looked at. I still get the warmest and fuzziest feeling when I look at our picture! As always, the cast members always make sure to get the cutest shot.
After the Mickey Pumpkin it was time to visit the castle and the iconic statue of Walt and Mickey holding hands. I absolutely adore this part of the park in general, and seeing it with the fall décor made me love it even more. It is such a central location to stand and see all of the happiness happening around you. Each of the pumpkins surrounding Walt and Mickey were different beloved characters, including Woody and Buzz.
After taking in all of the décor, it was time to get some yummy food. When I visited earlier in the year in April, I discovered the most delicious thing in Disneyland: the raspberry macaron from Jolly Holiday. This treat is 8 fresh raspberries and cream layered between two raspberry flavored macaron halves. It is hands down the best thing I have ever had in the parks. I will always make sure to get one when I visit!
When it was time lunch we visited a new addition for the season, Dia de Los Muertos display at Zocalo Park in Frontierland. It was so very cute and every detail was perfect. We enjoyed the best nachos from Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante directly behind the display.
After we accomplished everything we wanted to in Disneyland, we shot across the walkway to get to California Adventure. I love Disneyland because of how classic it is and because of the history, but my husband, Garett, loves California Adventure because it is filled with so many adrenaline packed rides and truly is an adventure to go through!
We always head straight for Cars Land as soon as we get into the park, however I was presented with an unusual chance to take the iconic picture with the Mickey balloons without waiting in line and fighting a crowd! You can’t go to Disneyland without taking a million fun pictures.
After the picture taking was finished we booked it over to Cars Land to see how they decorated for the fall season, and it was absolutely stunning! I wish I would have taken more pictures of all the decorations but I was so in awe that I didn’t even think about it.
The first ride we went on was Luigi’s Rollickin Roadsters, however for the season it was renamed to Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween! It is such a fun ride and moving to the music just makes a person so happy. Being slung around to the beat and hanging on for dear life… truly a fun time!
Cars Land has the best food in California Adventure! All of the little place you see in the Cars movies in Radiator Springs, you will also find in Cars Land. It is always a toss up if we should go to Cozy Cone or Flo’s V8 Café. This time we chose Flo’s because I had read on another blog that they were serving a pumpkin pie shake! I am a pumpkin obsessed girl so it was a must and it did not disappoint!
In front of Flo’s V8 Café they had a large spider car for picture taking, so of course we had to do it! These photo opportunities were all over Cars Land, including Towmater and Lightning McQueen, but the lines were about an hour long so we saved some time and still got a cute picture!
After Cars Land we went over to Pixar Pier! We spent a lot of time here because our favorite ride is Toy Story Midway Mania! The pier was so beautiful and the iconic Mickey ferris wheel was lit up so beautifully and festive! We watched the fireworks at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in Disneyland from the pier since Disneyland was closed to the general public. We stayed at the pier riding Midway Mania for the rest of the night until the park closed at 11.
It was truly such a magical day in Disneyland and California Adventure! I feel so lucky to have gone to see the park in such a festive state. I absolutely cannot wait to go back for Christmas, my favorite time of the year!
Until next time!
